I am a transitioning US Navy First Class Petty Officer and submariner currently working as a Project Manager at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. While here, I have written SOPs for the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Facility's Trans-sonic Wind Tunnel migrated legacy databases to cloud infrastructure to comply with new regulations, ensured personnel reliability, and led a motivated team of assistant managers and their technicians in a strict zero-tolerance drug testing compliance program
Formerly, I was attached to the USS Tennessee, (SSBN 734), a ballistic missile strategic nuclear submarine, and was trained as a SWS Navigation Supervisor. In both roles, I worked with highly sensitive classified equipment and material, requiring a deep understanding of GRC principles and the command's risk management framework. I also earned a BA in Global Studies, Magna Cum Laude, from CSU Monterey Bay in 2025.
On the side, I am a tech enthusiast interested in FOSS, self-hosting, privacy, and cybersecurity. I have been daily driving Linux Mint on my personal laptop and home server since 2023, after I finally decided to pursue a privacy-oriented life rather than submit to Microsoft Windows 11 telemetry. From there, I set up a TailScale WireGuard-based Tailnet mesh VPN to securely connect my self-hosted photo and video backup service, an Immich Docker Compose instance, with the corresponding application on my phone. I have also been daily driving GrapheneOS on my Pixel 8a since 2024, using the built-in sandboxed Google Play services for privacy and security.
Recently, I received certification in CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+.
Currently, I am studying hard for CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, CISSP, and PMP.
I started this website in 2025 to showcase my skills and record my progress.
Thanks for visiting!
